Rural Research & Planning Group (RRPG) October 2010 Meeting and Workshop


Introduction

Rural Research and Planning Group is an international platform for meeting and networking among those specialists/experts and practitioners in the field of rural development and planning to discuss, exchange of experiences, research findings and ideas, plan and organize activities for mutual benefit.

The first workshop will focus on the theme “One Village One Product (OVOP)” which include discussion on the concept and experiences of implementations of OVOP and other similar/related concepts such as economic/industrial cluster in rural setting.   
First workshop at UTM, Skudai 2010


Purpose of the workshop :

Identify the challenges and deepen our interpretation of the concept
Understand and investigate current issues
Come out with a roadmap for immediate experimentation with  innovations in the methodology
Identify what are the issues which demand further research
Reexamine the relevance of the concept in different world regions and village situations
Discuss Initial ideas for new directions
